Syngo.
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia, and neuroimaging plays a crucial role in diagnosis and monitoring. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides comprehensive structural information, including global cortical atrophy (GCA), medial temporal atrophy (MTA), white matter hyperintensities (WMH), and cerebral microbleeds (CMB). Patients with clinically diagnosed AD and age-matched controls underwent brain MRI examinations. Visual rating scales included GCA, MTA, Fazekas grading of WMH, and assessment of CMB. Quantitative volumetric analysis was performed using the Syngo.Via platform to measure hippocampal volume and cortical thickness. Group differences were assessed using two-tailed statistical tests, and correlations between imaging features and cognitive performance (Mini-Mental State Examination, MMSE) were analyzed. AD patients demonstrated significant medial temporal atrophy and cortical volume loss compared to controls. WMH burden and frequency of CMB were also higher in the AD group. Syngo.Via analysis revealed marked hippocampal volume reduction, which correlated positively with MMSE scores (p < 0.01). MRI provides valuable imaging biomarkers in AD evaluation. Quantitative analysis using Syngo.Via enhances diagnostic accuracy beyond traditional visual assessment and offers an objective approach for disease staging and longitudinal monitoring.
